The role of breast color ultrasound

1. Observe the morphology of breast mass. Breast cancer masses are often poorly defined or irregularly shaped on ultrasound.

2. Supraclavicular and axillary lymph nodes were observed. Under normal circumstances, the lymph nodes in these two parts are not enlarged. If a breast mass is found, the lymph nodes in these two parts are enlarged at the same time, and no other causes of lymph node enlargement can be found, it is necessary to suspect that the breast mass may be malignant, and there may be metastasis.

3. Sonograms of calcification in the mass. The calcification of breast cancer is characterized by pinpoint or sediment microcalcification, which is easily detected within the mass due to the high resolution of color ultrasound.

4. Blood flow in and around the mass. Breast cancer can produce tumor angiogenic factors that stimulate angiogenesis and form a rich network of blood vessels inside and outside the tumor. Color ultrasound can detect more blood color in or around the mass.
